Hometown Contractor Services is looking for an experienced Lead Service Plumber to run a company service truck, diagnose plumbing problems, present solutions to customers, and perform high-quality plumbing repairs and installations.
This is a senior field role responsible for managing jobs from diagnosis through completion while delivering excellent customer service.
You’ll have the independence to run your own jobs, the support of a growing company, and the opportunity to help build and lead our plumbing team as we expand.

What You'll Do
Diagnose Plumbing Issues
- Troubleshoot plumbing systems in residential and light commercial environments
- Identify root causes of plumbing problems
- Work on water lines, drains, fixtures, water heaters, and related systems
Present Solutions to Customers
- Clearly explain plumbing issues to customers
- Present repair and replacement options using our Good / Better / Best (GBB) service model
- Provide honest recommendations that help customers make informed decisions
Perform Repairs & Installations
- Complete plumbing repairs and installations to high workmanship standards
- Ensure all work meets applicable plumbing codes and company expectations
- Maintain clean and professional job sites
Run Your Own Service Truck
- Manage your assigned company vehicle and job inventory
- Communicate job updates with dispatch
- Document work completed using company software
Help Build the Plumbing Team
As the company grows, this role may also:
- Assist with training new plumbers
- Provide technical guidance to junior technicians
- Support company workmanship and safety standards
Requirements
Required
- Minimum 5 years plumbing experience
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to manage jobs independently from start to finish
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Preferred
- Residential service plumbing experience
- Experience presenting repair options to customers
- Experience mentoring junior plumbers
A South Carolina plumbing license is not required but may be considered a plus.
Work Environment
Work is performed in:
- Residential homes
- Commercial properties
- Active job sites
The role may require:
- Working in crawlspaces or confined areas
- Climbing ladders
- Lifting heavy tools or materials
- Working in varying weather conditions
Schedule
Typical schedule:
Monday – Friday
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Occasional overtime may be required depending on workload.
Participation in on-call service is optional.
Who This Job Is NOT For
This role is best suited for plumbers who enjoy diagnosing problems and working directly with customers.
If you prefer only performing installation work and not interacting with customers, this may not be the right fit.
