Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant - II to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing complex accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting financial reporting processes. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, facilitate accurate reporting, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations including general ledger, bank statements, and subsidiary ledgers such as accounts receivable and payable.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, or PeopleSoft to ensure timely processing and accuracy.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support internal controls compliance by assisting with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures and documentation.
  • Assist in financial report writing, interpretation of financial data, and preparation of management reports for decision-making.
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to support strategic planning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to financial transactions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of securities law, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices as applicable.
  • Mentor junior team members by sharing technical expertise in areas such as double entry bookkeeping, technical accounting concepts, and regulatory reporting.

Experience

  • CPA strongly-preferred
  • Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting roles with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial concepts.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft; experience with Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and internal control procedures is highly desirable.
  • Background in governmental or non-profit accounting is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
  • Experience in financial report writing, cash flow analysis, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation processes.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and experience with regulatory reporting requirements is advantageous.
