Description
Homestead Gardens is hiring a Truck & Small Engine Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair needs of our vehicle and equipment fleet. This hands-on position plays a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly by ensuring all company trucks, trailers, and small engine-powered tools are functioning safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Do:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain light- and medium-duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment
- Troubleshoot and service small engines such as weed eaters, blowers, chainsaws, and other landscape tools
- Respond to service requests from internal departments
- Assist with seasonal equipment maintenance and larger repair projects
- Keep accurate records of services performed, time worked, and parts used
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow safety policies and ensure equipment meets compliance standards
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in truck and/or small engine repair
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Familiarity with common small engine makes and models
- Ability to read technical manuals and repair diagrams
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
Work Environment:
This is a physical role based in a shop and outdoor setting. You’ll work with tools and machinery, often in dusty, noisy, or weather-exposed environments.
