Homestead Gardens is seeking an experienced Hardgoods Department Manager to lead our Garden Supply, Farm & Pet, and Patio/Decor departments. This position oversees daily operations, drives sales and profitability, manages inventory and merchandising, and develops a knowledgeable, customer-focused team.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and supervise department staff, scheduling, and daily operations
- Ensure exceptional customer service and store presentation
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and receiving in coordination with the Category Manager
- Create and maintain seasonal, visually appealing product displays
- Manage department budgets, payroll, and sales goals
- Collaborate with other departments to support promotions and events
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- 3–5 years of retail management experience, preferably in a garden center or specialty retail environment
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Knowledge of garden supplies, pet and farm products, and outdoor décor
- Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
