What are the responsibilities and job description for the Beer Farm Support (Bar back) position at HOMESTEAD GARDENS INC?
Love being outdoors? Don’t mind staying busy? We’re looking for a Bar Back / Beer Garden Support Crew member to help keep The Beer Farm at Homestead Gardens clean, stocked, and ready for a great time. You’ll be the behind-the-scenes hero who keeps the beer flowing and the space looking its best.
What You’ll Do
- Keep the beer garden, bar, tables, and walkways clean and guest-ready
- Clean and restock restrooms throughout your shift
- Take out trash, recycling, and compost
- Stock ice, glassware, kegs, and bar supplies
- Jump in to support bartenders during busy times
- Help move tables, equipment, and supplies (yes, there’s lifting involved)
- Assist guests with basic questions and keep things running smoothly
- Help with opening, closing, and event setup/breakdown
- Follow safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service rules
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
- Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting is preferred.
- Experience in customer service or hospitality roles is advantageous.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to lift and move heavy kegs, cases, and other bar supplies.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain cleanliness and order in the bar area.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of beer types and bar equipment is beneficial.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

- Comfortable being on your feet and lifting up to 50–75 lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation)
- Able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather
- Available for evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Bar, brewery, restaurant, or outdoor venue experience is a plus—but not required
