Duties

• Prepare ingredients and assist in meal assembly according to established recipes and menu specifications
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, utensils, and equipment to ensure food safety standards are met
• Support cooking processes by handling food items efficiently and accurately, including chopping, slicing, and portioning
• Assist with dishwashing duties to ensure timely turnover of clean dishes and kitchenware
• Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure quality control
• Help with basic menu planning and ingredient organization to streamline kitchen operations
• Support catering events or special functions by preparing food items and serving guests as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or dietary departments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with meal preparation processes
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow directions accurately
• Experience with dietary aide tasks or dietary department experience is a plus
• Willingness to support various kitchen roles including dishwashing, prep work, or cooking duties as needed
