Area General Manager

Position Overview:

The Area General Manager has the overall responsibility for overseeing all aspects of a company's day-to-day operations, including managing staff, developing growth strategies, maintaining budgets, ensuring financial performance, and implementing policies to achieve overall business goals. The successful candidate must be capable of leading a workforce including Comfort Advisors, office staff and HVAC service and installation technicians. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment and has a natural ability to lead and motivate the team to learn, strive for improvement, and feel a real sense of urgency about meeting our customer needs. This position also demands diligence about tracking service delivery and financial KPI’s. The Area General Manager is expected to meet company goals by providing clear direction and setting a positive example for attitude, professionalism, and work ethic. The successful candidate must be able to formulate, articulate, and lead strategic and tactical efforts to drive efficiencies and profitability within a highly competitive HVAC market.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to District personnel focused on customer satisfaction, growing the policy base and meeting overall revenue and profit growth goals
• Manage essential operational support functions including Inventory Management, Fleet Management, and Safety practices.
• Ensure compliance with company’s policies
• Develop and maintains a culture of performance management and accountability
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Ability to build and maintain a high performing team through recruiting, training, coaching and development activities
• Proven ability to significantly contribute toward or lead operations initiatives with a results-oriented approach
• Ability to formulate and implement a sound business plan to reach targeted service delivery, revenue and net profit goals
• Experience with budget preparation and fiscal management
• Ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field, or equivalent experience
• MBA or master’s degree a plus
• Minimum of 4-6 years general management experience managing a service delivery organization
• Experience with leading a union workforce preferred
• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Well organized, detail oriented with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple concurrent tasks    
• Competency in MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
• Ability to analyze and interpret data and prepare reports
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership
• Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to balance multiple tasks and changing practices
• Ability to work independently
• Travel up to 50% as needed

Starting base salary range: $130,242.36 - 173,656.48

Annual Bonus Potential: 20%
