FAMILY SERVICES SUPERVISOR
Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an experienced Family Services Supervisor for our Families w/ Children facility located in the Jamaica area of Queens, NY. The Family Services Supervisor, will play a pivotal role in our organization, in assisting the Director of Family Services. The Family Services Supervisor will be joining a supervisory team that is responsible for maintaining the critical files required by DHS and OTDA, and assisting in training and onboarding new staff members. ABOUT HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS:
HFH operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Director of Family Services with the day-to-day operation of the program.
- Assist with the supervision of family services case managers.
- Conduct case audits.
- Able to network with outside agencies to increase the department’s referrals sources.
- Manage and maintain several program reports.
- Maintain critical files required by DHS.
- Carry a case load when there is a staff vacancy.
- Able to consult cases with family service staff.
- Assist with filing, new intakes, unit inspections.
- Train new staff.
- Conduct client case conferences.
- Ability to work with a diverse population.
- Network with outside agencies to provide the staff with additional referral resources
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- At least one year of supervisory experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
- Knowledge of Microsoft word and excel.
- Bilingual is a plus.
