What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Supervisor position at Homes for Independent Living of Wisconsin LLC?
Homes for Independent Living is looking for a Supervisor to join our Management team. Our Supervisors provide direct supervision for our long term clients and assigned caregivers within one of our program settings of residential homes.
Responsibilities Include:
- Performance management of employees
- Implementation of company policies and procedures
- Assistance with client's daily living activities, transportation, cooking, and cleaning
- Assistance with personal cares as needed
- Empowering the use of their own coping skills and making healthy decisions
- Supporting functional social and community skills
- Redirecting challenging verbal and physical behaviors with clients
- 1st/2nd shift, weekend rotation, and on-call responsibilities

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Valid Driver’s License with at least 3 years of clean driving record
- Two (2) years of experience providing community based residential support services in a long term community-based care setting
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and motivating staff
- Successful completion of a caregiver background check, TB test and Health Screen
