Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and the ability to provide a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring that all animals receive the highest level of care and attention. Prior experience is preferable, but not required.

This is an entry level position and has potential to grow into a veterinary technician position for the right candidate.

Job responsibilities consist of but are not limited to:

  • Prioritize maintaining cleanliness in kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
  • Laundry, general housekeeping and cleanliness of all hospital areas in addition to kennels.
  • Assisting technician staff in preparing for and clean up of daily procedures.
  • Cleaning and preparing surgical instruments and packs/gowns.
  • Assisting cleaning surgery and treatment areas.
  • Must be comfortable with various species of animals .
  • Able to lift 40 lbs with frequent bending and lifting.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions for new staff on animal handling and care protocols.

Recommended Skills:

  • Experience as a kennel assistant or in a similar role is a plus.
  • Familiarity with animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both staff and pets.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
  • A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
