Key Responsibilities
- Draft social media captions and content ideas for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Assist with creating graphics and short-form videos using templates
- Support content calendars and campaign planning
- Research trends, hashtags, and best practices in nonprofit social media
- Help amplify HCN programs, events, and impact stories
- Compile basic analytics and insights for learning purposes
- Participate in check-ins and feedback sessions
Interns Will Gain Experience In
- Nonprofit storytelling and digital communications
- Social media strategy and content planning
- Ethical storytelling in community-based work
- Brand voice and audience engagement
- Working within a mission-driven organization
- Current student or recent graduate (communications, marketing, media, social work, or related fields encouraged)
- Strong interest in social impact and community-centered work
- Familiarity with Instagram and other social platforms
- Basic design or video editing skills (Canva, CapCut, etc. a plus)
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail
- Ability to receive feedback and learn collaboratively
- Intern will report to a designated HCN Communications Specialist
- Regular feedback and mentorship provided
- Portfolio-ready work encouraged
- Letter of recommendation available upon successful completion
