Responsibilities
Billing, Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Own the company's day-to-day billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, and collections processes
- Manage customer billing and subscriptions through Stripe, including new customers, new contracts, renewals, and ongoing subscription changes
- Ensure invoices and customer billing information remain accurate and current
- Monitor AR aging and proactively follow up on overdue and delinquent customer balances through resolution
- Manage incoming customer accounting inquiries, including invoice requests, billing questions, and questions regarding specific charges
- Maintain clear visibility into outstanding receivables and collection activity
- Support recurring reconciliation and reporting related to billing and accounts receivable
- Coordinate with the company's outside accountant and provide the information needed to support monthly accounting activities
- Maintain and improve recurring financial reporting used by leadership to manage the business
- Help develop a more consistent reporting cadence around cash flow, cash burn, forecasting, and other key financial metrics
- Turn financial and operating information into clear, timely visibility for senior leadership
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and operating discipline as the company continues to grow
- Support financial and commercial diligence related to potential acquisitions and other strategic transactions
- Assist in analyzing financial and operating information during transaction processes
- Own portions of diligence and financial analysis based on experience and capability
- Work closely with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and gain direct exposure to the company's M&A activities
- Take on additional business operations and strategic finance responsibilities as the role and organization evolve
- 2–4 years of professional experience in finance, strategic finance, finance operations, business operations, or a related field
- Hands-on experience managing accounts receivable, collections, billing, invoicing, and related financial operations
- Experience with customer billing and subscription-based financial processes
- Hands-on experience with Stripe, including subscription setup and customer billing
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable aging, cash collections, and outstanding balances
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience with reporting, cash flow, and forecasting
- Ability to balance day-to-day financial operations with analytical and strategic projects
- Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable taking ownership of processes in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to professionally handle customer billing and payment inquiries
- Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, internal teams, and external accounting partners
- Adaptable and comfortable taking on evolving responsibilities as the company grows
