Weekdays: Wednesday through Friday 3-7:30, 3-9, 4:30-7:30, 4:30-9

Weekends: Saturday 9-5:30 and Sunday 8-4:30

DOG CARE SPECIALIST JOB DESCRIPTION

No detail is too small and there is no such thing as too much communication. This role is the eyes and ears of our business. If this role fails, we all fail. Your goal is to get to know each and every dog assigned to your care, personally. You will know their name, their play style, their plan of care, who they like/dislike and they will love you unconditionally for it. You must be able to work in high-energy, loud environments - take direction - and be open to feedback and development. Patience and a positive attitude will make this job truly rewarding. You must TRULY LOVE ALL DOGS to enjoy this position and understand that caring for a lot of dogs requires a lot of patience and a lot of cleaning!

Job Overview This role’s main focus is on managing playgroups, handling dogs and ensuring the safety and well-being of all guests assigned to your care. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe/clean environment clear of dog waste, hair and dirt. You will be responsible for all the dogs in your playgroups during each shift. You will be responsible for interacting with each and every dog and ensuring they are properly socialized in a safe and healthy manner. You will adhere to the company policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and safe approach is taken to the handling and care of each guest.

Reports To: Shift Manager

Experience Required: High school graduate or equivalent. Prior dog care experience in a kennel, shelter or rescue environment is ideal. Experience in a play-all-day dog care facility is preferred but not required.

Primary Job Functions:

· Be reliable, on-time and ready to work each shift.

· Responsible for monitoring and managing off-leash playgroups

· Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility

· Responsible for daily care of guests including but not limited to bathing, trimming nails, feeding and daily health checks

· Supports the shift managers in the completion of daily tasks as needed

· Responsible for learning new skills and developing their handling skills to safely and effectively manager playgroups

· Manages off-leash playgroups including big dog and small dog.

· Responsible for communicating change of behavior, health issues, incidents or concerns to pack leader and/or shift manager

· Responsible for reviewing daily communications in all channels including but not limited to MoeGo, Slack and WhenIWork

Supervision:

This role will work under the direct supervision of the shift manager and pack leaders.

Environment:

Employee must be able to work weekends and some Holidays. Must be able to work inside and outside in various weather conditions. Will be required to handle guests safely, under control and to protocol all dogs under our care.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

· Capable of standing for long periods of times (Up to 4 hours) and lifting up to 40lbs

· Ability to work in a loud, fast-paced environment

· Basic ability to use computer systems and communication applications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Exceptional communication skills

· Ability to manage multiple projects at once

· Ability to work with all sizes and breeds of dogs

· Basic understanding of dog behaviors

· Ability to follow directions and work unsupervised to complete tasks

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.50 - $15.50 per hour
