Your Role in Production
Join the Homecrest production team in the Finishing Department. You are reliable and have a keen eye for detail, which are crucial for our team's success. In this role, you will work in multiple areas of the Finishing Department where you will powder coat aluminum furniture and also stage the product lines.
Primary Job Duties can include:
- Operate and maintain powder coating equipment in a production environment.
- Prepare metal furniture frames and components for coating, including cleaning and hanging, to ensure proper adhesion and a high-quality finish.
- Apply powder coatings to products according to specific quality standards, formulas, and manufacturing orders.
- Perform preventative maintenance and daily general cleaning of the spray booth and work area to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
- Conduct quality checks, which may include verifying finish thickness and cure times, to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Notify supervisors or management of any quality concerns and initiate a halt in production if needed to correct issues.
- Identify and differentiate part/weldment hang wires.
- Identify and properly address part/weldment defects (weld spatter, missing welds and drainage holes, substrate blemishes, etc.).
- Ensure product is loaded efficiently and properly presented (proper hang hooks and part/line spacing, proper masking, weighting, etc.).
- Ensure product is loaded according to protocol (required color change gaps, required line breaks, part/product sequencing, etc.).
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is highly preferred. Experience with powder coating or spray booth operation is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is essential for ensuring high-quality finishes on custom products.
- Technical Skills: Ability to use basic measuring devices, such as a tape measure and weight scale, and perform basic math.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs from ground to waist height occasionally.
- Work Ethic: Must be a reliable, hardworking individual with a positive attitude who can work effectively in a team environment.
