What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Office Accountant position at HomeBase?
A family-owned enterprise is in need of a family office general accountant/bookkeeper to perform general accounting, bookkeeping, and clerical tasks for various trusts, individuals and entities. This position will be responsible for:
- processing invoices and preparing checks for signature
- performing multiple bank/investment account reconciliations
- initiating ACH and wire transactions from multiple banks
- preparing and recording journal entries
- preparing analyses and reconciliations
- producing monthly reports and financial statements
- preparing supporting tax workpapers for outside tax preparers
Requirements:
- 3 - 5 years of family office accounting/bookkeeping experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- experience with trust indenture documents
- experience with tax returns and tax workpapers
- strong organizational skills, including prioritizing tasks, attention to detail and accuracy
- excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- results oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- strong Microsoft Office skills
- experience with Quicken/QuickBooks
- handling a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced and changing environment
