Job Summary: The Laundry Attendant is responsible for cleaning, drying, folding, and organizing all hotel linens, and towels. This role ensures a steady supply of clean linen is available for the housekeeping team and that all laundry operations meet brand cleanliness and quality standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment according to safety and usage guidelines.
- Sort, load, and unload laundry by type and level of soiling.
- Inspect linens and towels for stains or damage; treat stains and report heavily damaged items.
- Fold and organize clean laundry to brand specifications.
- Maintain laundry carts and linen storage areas in a neat and orderly manner.
- Monitor linen and towel par levels; report shortages or overstock to supervisor.
- Ensure all clean items are properly stored and rotated to prevent overuse or damage.
- Restock housekeeping closets with clean linen and terry as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the laundry room, equipment, and work surfaces.
- Follow all hotel safety guidelines, including chemical handling, PPE usage, and lifting techniques.
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
- Coordinate with housekeeping team to ensure timely linen availability.
- Support housekeeping staff during busy shifts as needed.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility in a safe and satisfactory manner. The individual must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and guests and have a neat appearance to represent hotel positively with guests. The individual must be punctual, have a good attendance record, and have reliable means of transportation to work.
Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time position. The typical shift for this position is 9am to 4:30pm.
Work Environment: This job operates in a Hotel environment. Hotels can be a stressful environment that require frequent, pleasant communication with others, effectively deal with guests, and accept constructive feedback from supervisors. This job requires a person is able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions. This role routinely uses cleaning chemicals and tools to clean guest rooms, public areas and food and beverage areas. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, and cleaning chemicals and a variety of different food items. Employee must follow all chemical MSDS guidelines. Work involves considerable exposure to steam, dirt, dust, fumes, bacteria and odors. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns.

Required Education/Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (or actively enrolled)
- Previous work or volunteer experience in cleaning, housekeeping or manual labor roles
Preferred Education/Work Experience:
- Previous laundry experience in hotel, healthcare, senior living or professional laundry setting
- Experience working in extended stay or select service hotel environment
- Knowledge of linen handling, chemical safety and proper use of housekeeping equipment
- Experience operating large-capacity washers, dryers, and folding equipment
- Exposure to hygiene protocols and fabric care standards in high-volume environments
- Knowledge of stain treatment techniques and laundry chemical handling
