Job Coach – Supported Employment

Location: South Jersey (community-based)

Pay: $18 – $22/hour (nonexempt, hourly)

Reports to: Employment Specialist

About The Role

As a Job Coach with Home To Stay, you’ll play an essential role in helping individuals with developmental disabilities succeed at work. You’ll provide on-the-job support, training, and encouragement so people can gain the skills, confidence, and independence to thrive in their jobs.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in the community, supporting others, and making a direct impact in people’s lives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide handson coaching and support at workplaces in the community.
• Teach and reinforce workplace skills like time management, communication, and problemsolving.
• Help individuals understand employer expectations and adapt to workplace routines.
• Support independence by fading assistance over time while remaining a reliable resource.
• Document progress and communicate with the Employment Specialist about updates.
• Collaborate with employers, families, and team members to ensure success.
• Ensure the dignity, health, and safety of each individual at all times.
  
  

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma or GED required; some college in human services or related fields a plus.
• Experience in coaching, teaching, caregiving, or supported employment preferred — but we’ll train the right person.
• Strong communication and problemsolving skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching styles to different learning needs.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel between job sites and work a flexible schedule (including some evenings/weekends).
• Must meet state background check and training requirements.
