Role Description The Personal Care Aide is a full-time, on-site role based in Smithfield, VA, providing direct in-home support to senior clients. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. The role also involves light housekeeping, meal preparation, and support with errands or appointments as needed. Personal Care Aides provide companionship, monitor general well-being, and promptly report changes in condition to supervisors or family members. Team members are expected to follow care plans, maintain clear documentation, and uphold safety and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Experience providing personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and safe mobility support.
- Ability to perform household tasks such as light cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation in a home setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building trust, offering companionship, and collaborating with families and supervisors.
- Reliability in following care plans, maintaining accurate documentation, and adhering to safety and infection control procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience as a personal care aide, home health aide, or similar role is preferred.
