What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic position at Home Run Inc.?
Join Home Run Inc. and help us keep our truck fleet on the move. We're seeking experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanics / Technicians for both the first and second shift with weekend availability.
Starting Salary is $20/ hour depending on experience. We offer weekly pay via direct deposit!!!
Level 1 Tech
- Brake certification
- Install temporary trailer patch
- Replace trailer light cord & air lines
- Replace, mount and dismount tires
- Replace mud flaps and hangers
- Adjust brakes, replace lining, drums, and cams
- Replace shocks
- Use cutting torch and minor welding
- Computer skills required for the role
- Trailer electrical diagnosis & repair
Level 2 Tech
- All Level I skills
- DOT inspection and certification
- Basic Arc or MIG welding
- Repair or replace anything on the brake system
- Clutch, transmission, & differential replacement
- Read fault codes
- Perform alternator output test
- Repair or replace external engine parts
- Repair or replace anything in the cab system
- Repair or replace anything in the cooling system
- Heater diagnosis & component replacement
- 5th wheel adjustment, repair and overhaul
- Complete quality tractor & trailer PM checklist
- Steering system component replacement
- Follow & comply to set repair procedures
Level 3 Tech
- All Level II skills
- ASE certification Grade A, B, C courses
- Air condition certification
- AC diagnosis and repair
- Electronic engine diagnosis & repair
- Complete electrical system diagnosis & repair
- Complete driveline diagnosis & repair
- Accurate decisions on component life
- Oil, coolant leak decisions, repair vs. wait to PM
- Engine, injectors, engine brake, head gasket
- Component rebuild, i.e. prop legs, starter
- Trailer structural repair
- Satellite diagnosis & repair
- Complete cooling system diagnosis & repair
- Steering system diagnosis & repair

We Would Like Our Diesel Mechanic to have:
- Cummins & Paccar Certification preferred
- International and Peterbilt experience preferred
- MUST have basic hand tools
- Class A CDL is Preferred but not required
- ASE certification is Preferred but not required
- All Diesel Mechanics MUST Pass Pre-Employment Physical & Drug Screen
- MUST have 3 years verifiable employment records
