Total Rewards & Leave Manager
Home of the Innocents is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented, and customer service minded Total Rewards & Leave Manager to lead the administration of our benefits, leave, and workers’ compensation programs. This role ensures compliance, strengthens vendor partnerships, and delivers an exceptional total rewards experience that supports our team members and mission.
A Day in the Life
As the Total Rewards & Leave Manager, you will oversee benefits and leave operations while partnering with managers, Finance/Payroll, vendors, and the Director of Total Rewards. You will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate program administration, and supportive experience for team members navigating benefits and leave needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and administration of all benefits and leave programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Manage annual open enrollment, ensuring accurate benefits deductions, invoicing reconciliation, and timely delivery of required notices
- Serve as the primary contact for third-party administrators supporting long-term absences, workers’ compensation, and return-to-work coordination
- Monitor reporting, metrics, claims experience, and plan expenditures to identify trends and recommend risk-reduction strategies
- Conduct compliance audits to ensure all benefit and leave programs meet reporting, disclosure, testing, and filing requirements
- Maintain accurate benefits setup and data integrity across HRIS and vendor systems, supporting integrations and related HR initiatives
Skills and Qualifications
- Five to seven (5-7) years of human resources experience, including three (3) years leading benefits and leave administration preferred
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and federal/state employment laws
- Proven ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion, sound judgment, and strict confidentiality
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Ceridian Dayforce), benefits systems, and Microsoft Office 365 tools
- Professional HR or benefits credentials (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP, CEBS) preferred
