What You'll Be Doing: Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities
Client Intake & Assessment
- Review referral materials, collateral, and intake information.
- Complete intake paperwork, assessments, and written reports with children and their families.
- Develop each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) using the assigned curriculum.
- Identify goals and strategies tailored to each child and family’s needs.
- Schedule, plan, and conduct in-home sessions to support IFSP goals.
- Provide services in family homes and other approved community locations.
- Maintain ongoing communication with families and members of the Early Start team.
- Coordinate services to ensure continuity of care and goal alignment.
- Prepare, collect, and maintain case notes, educational records, and required documentation.
- Manage files and reports from outside agencies in compliance with program requirements.
- Research services and resources based on family needs.
- Provide families with educational materials and community resource referrals.
- Travel throughout the assigned county to deliver services.
What You'll Bring to the Role: Knowledge, Skills, and Education
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a Teaching Permit or Credential.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children with developmental delays or disabilities (experience with ages 0–3 preferred).
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, family-centered approach.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Successful DOJ background clearance required.
- Valid California Driver’s License, safe driving record, and reliable vehicle with current auto insurance.
- CPR/First Aid certification required (training provided if needed).
