Job description:

Lead Caregiver – Home Matters Caregiving Fresno, CA

"Compassionate Care You Can Depend On"

JOIN OUR TEAM AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE

At Home Matters Caregiving, we're redefining what senior care can be. We're a best-in-class, in-home care agency led by a team experienced in building people-first cultures — and we're bringing that mission to [market area] and the surrounding communities.

Our Lead Caregivers are the backbone of our field operations. You're not just providing exceptional care — you're helping set the standard for our entire caregiving team, stepping up when it matters most, and making sure no client ever goes without the support they need.

If you're an experienced caregiver who's ready to take the next step, this is your opportunity to grow into a leadership role while still doing the work you love.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Direct Client Care:

  • Execute personalized client care plans and document daily activities accurately
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide household assistance such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and home safety monitoring
  • Support clients with personal care, including hygiene, mobility assistance, medication reminders, and companionship
  • Build meaningful, trusting relationships with clients and their families

Lead & Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily administrative support tasks in the agency office, supporting the Executive Administrator as needed
  • Assist in conducting caregiver orientations and field training, modeling best practices and Home Matters standards
  • Serve as the first point of contact when a caregiver is unable to report for a scheduled shift — respond quickly and either cover the shift personally or coordinate a replacement
  • Be available to fill gaps for high-need clients, ensuring continuity of care is never compromised
  • Conduct wellness check-ins with clients and report observations to the office team
  • Communicate proactively with the Executive Administrator and scheduling team regarding shift coverage, client concerns, and caregiver performance in the field
  • Serve as a trusted resource for caregivers who have questions or need support while on shift

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Must be at least 21 years of age (some exceptions may apply)
  • Minimum 3 years of caregiving experience with the senior population
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with current insurance required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to remain calm and solutions-focused under pressure
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional — clients and colleagues are counting on you
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a strong plus
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. using safe, ergonomic movements
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, crouch, and perform hands-on care tasks throughout a shift
  • Physically and mentally able to operate a vehicle safely

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY

  • Consistent daily shifts during normal business hours
  • Flexibility to cover last-minute shift callouts or fill gaps for high-need clients as needed

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Agency office
  • Client homes
  • Skilled, independent, and assisted living communities

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Pay: Starting at $19/hour, depending on experience — reflecting your leadership responsibilities
  • Weekly Pay — get paid every week, no waiting
  • Performance Pay Raises — your growth is recognized and rewarded
  • Referral Bonus — earn extra when you refer caregivers or clients
  • Mileage Reimbursement for work-related travel
  • Paid Training & Ongoing Education
