Position Title: Recreation Coordinator Reports To: Director of Social Services

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for planning and organizing the operations, services, staff, and activities of the assigned on-site recreation area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts workshops with clients including arts and crafts, team building exercises, general exercises, and reading groups.
- Oversees the development of diversified recreation programs and services for all ages in accordance with the community's needs.
- Participates in Community Outreach
- Evaluate program effectiveness, recommends changes, and implements
- Oversees the activities of staff and volunteers; plans, assigns, trains, and monitors staff duties.
- Performs administrative tasks, such as attending and scheduling meetings, and preparing reports.
- Performs routine facility maintenance such as setting up tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies.
- Provides communication and written documentation regarding all recreation program areas and facility activities
- Monitors inventory and orders supplies
- Coordinates all staff parties, meetings, and events which include decorating and cleaning up
- Assists Social Services in client’s cases as needed.
- In the event of an emergency, Essential Employees are required to report to work as scheduled
- Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based upon the assessment of company needs.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- One year of experience in Social Services is preferred.
- Must be able to interact effectively with the facility staff and client population.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing)
- Bilingual – English/Spanish plus
