Our Story
Aaron and Paul both wanted a business that made a difference. Aaron watched his grandparents move into nursing homes and lose something because they weren’t in their familiar environment anymore. He believes keeping seniors at home for as long as possible is the way to go. Paul’s father was a client with Home Instead and because of that was able to stay home as long as possible. Both wanted to be able to help seniors as well caregivers looking to help others and make a difference.
*No previous experience or certification necessary – skills training provided by Home Instead*
The Floating CAREGiver serves as a high-dependability team member responsible for maintaining client continuity of care. This position provides coverage for call-offs, initiates care for new clients, and supports operational stability by ensuring shifts remain filled and clients receive uninterrupted service. Floating CAREGivers must demonstrate flexibility, reliability, and adaptability while upholding Home Instead's mission to enhance the lives of aging adults and their families with dignity, pride, care, and compassion.
As a Floating CAREGiver, your responsibilities may include….
- Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
- Required availability Monday-Friday 8:00am-8:00pm
- Required availability every other weekend 8:00am-8:00pm
- Ability to report to a scheduled shift within one (1) hour of a call-off notification
- Acceptance of schedule changes with minimal notice
- Ability to decline no more than three (3) offered shifts per calendar month
As a Home Instead CAREGiver, your responsibilities may include….
- Light Housekeeping
- Errands and Transportation
- Assistance with Activities of Daily Living
- Meal Preparation
- Companionship and Conversation
- Personal Care (training provided)
- Dementia Care (training provided)
- Hospice Care (training provided)
Essential Job Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach
- Valid Driver's License or State ID
- Valid Auto-Insurance (if applicable)
- Reliable vehicle and willingness to travel between client homes within La Porte County
- Ability to withstand various living environments
- Ability to treat clients and their property with dignity and respect
- Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner
- Ability to independently operate required company software systems, including scheduling and timekeeping applications with minimal supervision
Job Types: Full-time- Pay: From $17.00 per hour
- Expected hours: 30 hours minimum per week
