Overnight Caregiver – Rotating Schedule (Yorktown, TX)

Pay: $13.00 / hour

Schedule: 12-Hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3/4 Rotating Schedule

Home Instead is seeking an experienced, compassionate caregiver for a consistent overnight position supporting a female client with quadriplegia in Yorktown, TX.

Schedule Breakdown

• Predictable Monthly Rotation: Set schedule planned one month in advance.
• Week 1 (36 hrs): Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
• Week 2 (48 hrs): Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• Alternates weekly between 3-night and 4-night workweeks.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal & Adaptive Care: Assist client with daily activities. Setup adaptive cuffs for independent eating and hand-over-hand assistance for electric toothbrushing.
• Mobility & Safety: Provide hands-on assistance with transfers and mobility for a quadriplegic client with limited upper-body strength. Monitor client constantly during meals due to swallowing limitations.
• Bathing & Grooming: Provide weekly sponge baths (typically weekends) and daily hair care.
• Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversation and social interaction.
• Housekeeping & Meal Prep: Prepare meals/snacks, wash and put away dishes, perform laundry, empty trash, and maintain a clean bedroom and bathroom (sweeping, mopping, dusting).
• Health & Care Plan Monitoring: Assist with prescribed medication reminders, observe changes in health status, and follow individual care guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience: Prior experience in personal caregiving, home health, mobility support, or hospice care is preferred.
• Physical Capability: Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with major mobility limitations.
• Pet Friendly: Must be comfortable working in a home with dogs.
• Core Skills: Strong communication, active listening, and a compassionate, reliable approach to care.
