Job Summary
We are urgently seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dedicated healthcare team for weekend shifts. This vital role involves providing compassionate, high-quality patient care to a diverse to a geriatric individual with mobility issues and requiring hospice care. As a Certified CNA for weekends, you will play a key part in ensuring the patient and receives attentive assistance with daily activities, medical needs, and mobility support. Your energetic and proactive approach will help create a safe, comfortable environment where the patient feels valued and cared for.
Duties
- Assist patient with Activities of Daily Living , including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, administering medications as prescribed, and documenting medical information accurately.
- Support patients with care with sensitivity, dignity, and adherence to hospice care protocols.
- Perform catheter care, wound management, and assist with medical procedures requiring knowledge of medical terminology and infection control standards.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry and meal preparation to promote overall well-being.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and update medical records consistently.
Skills
- Proven experience working with geriatric patients.
- Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in condition promptly.
- Knowledge of home healthcare regulations and best practices for home & community care settings.
- Ability to assist with complex patient needs including medication administration, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring.
- Certification in First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, and other relevant safety training.
- Excellent communication skills to foster positive client relationships and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with patient transfers using appropriate techniques.
