We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Landscape Foreman to lead a small field crew in completing landscape installations, property maintenance, and outdoor improvement projects.

This position is ideal for a skilled landscaping professional who enjoys working alongside their crew, organizing daily jobsite activities, and taking pride in maintaining attractive, well-kept outdoor spaces.

As our Landscape Foreman, you won't simply oversee the work -- you'll be actively involved in landscaping operations, supporting your team, and ensuring every project meets our standards for safety, efficiency, and quality.

Unlike many landscaping companies that lay off employees when the season ends, Home Grown Outdoor Finishes provides stable, year-round employment. During the winter months, our crews transition into commercial snow and ice removal, equipment upkeep, and related maintenance activities.

What You'll Be Responsible For

As our Landscape Foreman, you will lead a small crew while working directly alongside your team to complete residential and commercial landscaping installations and property maintenance assignments.

You will be responsible for organizing daily work, maintaining landscaping quality, supporting crew productivity, and communicating effectively with project managers, customers, and office personnel.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting a landscaping crew of 1-3 additional employees on residential and commercial properties
• Performing and overseeing landscape installations, planting, mulching, trimming, edging, and routine property maintenance
• Completing softscape improvements, pruning, landscape bed preparation, and other outdoor improvement projects
• Constructing decorative garden walls and smaller retaining wall features as required
• Reading and following landscape plans, site layouts, project instructions, and work specifications
• Organizing daily work assignments and coordinating materials, tools, and equipment to maintain efficient project progress
• Operating mowers, trimmers, edgers, and other landscaping tools and powered equipment
• Ensuring landscaping and maintenance work follows proper methods, accurate measurements, and company quality standards
• Providing practical instruction, guidance, and support to crew members throughout the workday
• Identifying and resolving routine jobsite challenges to keep assignments progressing safely and efficiently
• Maintaining clean, organized, and professional jobsite conditions
• Following all company safety policies and ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment
• Communicating project progress, material needs, questions, and updates to project managers, customers, and office personnel
• Assisting with commercial snow and ice removal operations during the winter season, including plowing, shoveling, snow blowing, and salting
• Working flexible hours during snow events, including overnight, early-morning, weekend, and extended shifts when necessary

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a skilled landscaping professional who understands proper installation and maintenance techniques, communicates effectively, and can lead a small crew through example.

What we're looking for:

• High school education
• At least 2 years of professional experience in landscaping, landscape maintenance, outdoor installations, or closely related work
• Previous experience leading or supervising a small crew in landscaping, property maintenance, construction, or outdoor services
• Strong working knowledge of landscape installations, planting, mulching, pruning, trimming, edging, and general property maintenance practices
• Ability to read and follow landscape plans, site layouts, and project instructions
• Experience operating mowers, trimmers, edgers, and other common landscaping equipment
• Ability to organize daily work, coordinate materials, and maintain crew productivity
• Strong practical mathematics, measuring, and problem-solving abilities
• Previous experience driving a pickup truck with an attached trailer is required
• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with a clean driving record
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to use a smartphone or similar device for jobsite communication and reporting
• Physical capability to lift more than 50 pounds and perform demanding outdoor work
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year
• Ability to successfully complete a background check following a conditional employment offer

Compensation and Employee Benefits

Pay and employment

• 21-25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
• Strong weekly performance bonus opportunities
• Realistic annual earning potential of $55,000 - $70,000 annually
• Full-time, year-round W-2 employment

Vacation, sick leave, and holidays

• 80 hours of paid vacation annually, increasing by 8 hours after the first year of employment, up to a maximum of 120 hours after five years
• 80 hours of unpaid vacation annually
• 24 hours of paid sick leave annually
• Paid holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve

• Health insurance reimbursement covering 50% of monthly costs, up to $225 per month
• 401(k) retirement plan with a 100% company match on the first 3% of contributions and a 50% match on the next 2%, providing a maximum 4% employer match when contributing 5%
