Duties
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) transactions
- Lead, supervise, and motivate team members to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service
- Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales potential
- Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions to enhance team performance and product knowledge
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a welcoming shopping environment
- Assist with recruiting efforts by interviewing candidates and participating in hiring decisions
- Support marketing initiatives and promotional activities to increase store visibility and sales
- Maintain a positive and professional working environment.
Experience
- Proven supervisory or assistant manager experience within retail store settings
- Strong management skills with a focus on team leadership, scheduling, and shift management
- Demonstrated expertise in retail math, budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, POS technology, and merchandising principles
- Experience in retail sales environments with a focus on customer service excellence
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining organizational skills and attention to detail
Required Skills
- Ability to bend, lift, carry and move packages of 60 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills in a diverse environment.
- Prior Retail Management Experience in a paint/Hardware store setting.
