Hardware Sales Associate

Job Overview

Hardware Sales Associates are a vital part of our retail store operation. Responsibilities involve assisting customers in our retail store as well as working on the day-to-day duties necessary to operate the store. Qualified candidates must be committed to assisting the team, helping our customers accomplish their goals and growing the retail/commercial business through salesmanship. Our ideal candidate possesses a positive professional attitude, strong organizational skills and loves to be active in a fast-paced retail environment. Prior retail experience is required. Experience in the paint and/or hardware industry in preferred but we will train qualified candidates.

Duties include:

• Provide excellent customer service through salesmanship, product advice & positive interaction.
• Build lasting relationships with our customers.
• Operate the cash register/computer system for all retail/commercial transactions
• Store ordering, replenishment and stocking of merchandise for the sales floor
• Maintain the store’s visual appearance, cleanliness and safety.
• Sorting and staging of merchandise received at the store.
• Loading & Unloading daily deliveries inside and outside of the building.
• Working with management to grow the business.

Responsibilities include:

• Ability to lift, move and carry items up to 75lbs.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule within the hours our store is open for business.
• A strong work ethic and ability to contribute to a team environment.
• A commitment to outstanding customer service.
• Ability to implement company procedures & policies.
• Ability to communicate clearly with store personnel and our customers.
• Read, Write and Understand the English language
• Ability to operate store equipment and perform basic maintenance on such.
• Physically able to stand for prolonged periods and/or move about the entire store without assistance.
• Understanding of basic math skills and knowledge of units of measurement.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
