Generator Sales / Power Advisor

Home & Commercial Power Systems is a Generac, Kohler, and Cummins generator dealer with locations in Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse, NY. HPS is a leading installer of automatic standby generators in Upstate New York having installed thousands of standby generators and has over 12,000 current service and preventive maintenance customers.

Home Power Systems is looking to expand our team and is currently seeking a Power Advisor based out of our Farmington, NY location to build relationships and generate peace of mind for our customers by providing reliable back up power solutions. The successful candidate will establish and build new customer relationships, identifying opportunities to propose estimates for generator system installations, replacements, and service/ maintenance agreements. You will be a key member of the team, partnering with the estimating team to generate accurate and high-quality proposals. You’ll work with our Project Managers, technical experts, and customers to value engineer solutions spanning back up power, green energy, and sophisticated solutions to suit their needs.

Compensation Range: $90-150k

Responsibilities:

• Develop relationships with customer by providing professional presentations, proposals, and design input.
• Meet and exceed monthly established targeted revenue goals.
• Generate leads through cold calling, networking, lead sources, and referrals.
• Build a book of business through developing long-term relationships and customer loyalty.
• Maintain all client communication and documentation in Salesforce.
• Make daily calls to new prospects and client base to generate leads.
• Act as a company representative at sponsored activities, trade shows, chamber of commerce events to build relationships and increase company brand awareness.
• Participate in sales and product training in person, online, and through various content.
• Conduct thorough job site measuring, take photos, calculate the cost of the project, lead Sales Team presentations to customers.
• Maintain the highest ethical standards consistent with good judgment, policy, objectives, and our company Code of Ethics.
• When needed, complete cost estimates for requested change orders and other job site variations.
• Continually build, develop, and grow relationships with customer base, vendor, subcontractor, and Project Management / field personnel.

Requirements:

• Proven experience of 3 years in B2C Sales
• Experience in the trades is a plus
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software
• Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Report writing and strategic planning skills
• Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents
• Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional time management skills
• Multi-tasking, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
