As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance Officer to join our team in Springville, Utah.
Position Overview
The Quality Assurance (QA) Officer is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the pharmacy’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with USP standards, state and federal regulations, and internal policies. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compounding quality, regulatory readiness, and continuous improvement.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Springville, UT.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and oversee the pharmacy’s Quality Assurance and Quality Management programs
- Ensure compliance with USP <795>, <797>, <800>, and applicable state and federal regulations
- Lead internal audits and coordinate external inspections
- Manage deviation reports, OOS investigations, CAPAs, and change controls
- Review and approve SOPs, policies, and procedural updates
- Monitor environmental sampling, personnel competency testing, and equipment certification
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions
- Oversee documentation systems and ensure audit readiness
- Collaborate with pharmacists, compounding staff, and leadership to promote a culture of quality
- Track and trend quality metrics for continuous improvement
Qualifications
Required:
- Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance experience (required)
- Experience in compounding pharmacy, 503A/503B environment, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of USP standards and regulatory compliance
- Experience managing investigations, CAPAs, and audits
- Exceptional attention to detail and documentation skills
Preferred:
- Experience with NABP accreditation
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience
