Job Description
We are looking to hire a technician who will focus on Data Entry. Because we are closed-door, all of our orders are received electronically or via telephone and there is little to no direct interaction with patients. Data Entry technicians are tasked with triaging phone calls from nurses and doctors in the nursing homes we service, enter prescriptions into our system with accuracy and efficiency, create new patient profiles for admitting patients, process the billing, and troubleshoot a variety of issues. A typical day is fast-paced but rewarding!
The best candidate will have experience in, or ability to learn, order entry, billing, and processing of prescription claims with high attention to detail and efficiency.
Applicants must be able to work closing and weekend shifts. Our shifts range from 7 AM - 9 PM on weekdays and 9 AM - 8 PM on weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Process inbound prescriptions and billing of prescriptions using computer software
- Understanding the unique laws and preferences in long-term-care pharmacy
- Triage phone calls from other health professionals
- Monitor storage and inventory of medications and supplies
- Measure dosage of medications and perform simple calculations
- Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a long-term or retail pharmacy preferred
- Strong technology skills preferred
- Sharp analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attentional to detail
- Efficient with good work ethic
