Family Pride Private Home Care is seeking compassionate, dependable, and caring individuals to join our team as Companions & Homemakers.
No previous caregiving experience is required! We provide the training and certification needed to get started. If you are someone who enjoys helping others, spending time with seniors, and making a difference in someone's day, we would love to hear from you.
As a Companion & Homemaker, you will provide non-medical support to clients in the comfort of their own homes, helping them remain safe, comfortable, independent, and engaged.
Responsibilities
Companion & Homemaker duties may include:
Providing friendly companionship and conversation- Spending quality time with clients and helping reduce loneliness and isolation
- Preparing and serving meals and snacks
- Grocery shopping and running errands
- Light housekeeping, including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and mopping
- Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms
- Washing dishes and loading/unloading the dishwasher
- Laundry, folding clothes, and changing bed linens
- Organizing household items and helping maintain a clean, comfortable home
- Providing medication reminders
- Accompanying clients on walks, errands, shopping trips, appointments, and social outings
- Encouraging hobbies, games, conversation, and other activities clients enjoy
- Providing general supervision and companionship for clients experiencing memory loss or dementia
- Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition, behavior, or needs to the appropriate Family Pride team member
- Following each client's individual care plan and Family Pride policies and procedures
This is a non-medical Companion & Homemaker position and does not require a CNA license.
Qualifications
- No previous caregiving experience required
- No CNA certification required
Family Pride provides required training and certification - Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful
- Enjoys working with seniors and helping others
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and an individual client's care plan
- Reliable and committed to scheduled shifts
- Ability to maintain client privacy and confidentiality
- Driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
