Home Again LA (HALA)

Position Summary

The Development Director is responsible for developing and implementing all non-government fundraising activities for Home Again Los Angeles. This position will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to determine priorities for funding and develop an overarching strategy that will articulate program and organizational needs and their impact on vulnerable families in our community to individual donors and institutional givers.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop and implement an effective fundraising strategy
• Create awareness of the organization’s work in the community and among potential donors
• Plan, organize, and implement the organization’s annual fundraising events
• Plan, organize, and implement the organization’s annual giving campaign
• Create external communications, including e-newsletter, social media posts, and press releases that support fundraising initiatives. 
• Research private foundations and submit grant applications to those whose mission and giving priorities align with the mission and vision of HALA
• Provide stewardship of the current donor base 
• Grow donor base through identification and solicitation
• Work in collaboration with the Executive Director and Director of Programs to ensure fundraising efforts are in line with organizational and programmatic objectives

·    In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer and the Board Fund Development Committee, explore the viability of fundraising opportunities beyond those currently established

• Manage the data and generate analytical reports in the donor database
• Prepare (using donor database software) acknowledgements/receipts for donors 
• Serve on organization and community committees as requested
• Performing other duties as assigned

Annual Salary ranges from : $90,000 - $100,000
