What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Advocate position at Holzer Health System?
The Financial Advocate is directly responsible and accountable to the Patient Account Manager. The purpose of the Financial Advocate is to secure reimbursement for services rendered to uninsured and/or underinsured patients by assisting individuals in accessing and/or applying for Medicaid or other Federal or State assistance programs.
Education, Work Experience and Licensure:
- Associate Degree preferred or minimum of 3 years experience
- Successful completion of Presumptive Eligibility training course within 90
- days
- Must obtain Certified Application Counselor certification within one year
- Prior experience processing HCAP/Charity applications preferred
- At least one year experience in healthcare billing
