This role ensures customer satisfaction by providing high-quality repairs, maintaining manufacturer standards, and contributing to a safe and efficient work environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair diesel engines, drivetrains, suspension systems, brakes, and electrical components on light-, medium-, or heavy-duty vehicles.Perform routine maintenance and inspections in accordance with dealership and manufacturer guidelines.Utilize factory diagnostic tools, equipment, and software to accurately identify issues and complete repairs.Complete repair orders efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.Communicate with service advisors regarding required repairs, additional work, and estimated completion times.Document all work performed in compliance with dealership and manufacturer requirements.Participate in manufacturer training programs and maintain up-to-date certifications.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.Assist other technicians and support teamwork across the service department.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in diesel technology preferred.2 years of hands-on experience as a diesel technician (dealership experience strongly preferred).Familiarity with manufacturer diagnostic software and repair protocols (e.g., Cummins INSITE, Ford IDS, GM GDS2, etc.).Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, and electrical diagnostics.Valid driver’s license; CDL or state inspection license a plus.ASE or OEM certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain).Skills & AttributesExcellent mechanical and troubleshooting skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityDependable and able to work independentlyEffective communication and teamwork skillsCommitment to customer satisfaction and dealership professionalismWork EnvironmentDealership service department setting with access to state-of-the-art diagnostic and repair equipment.May require standing for long periods, lifting heavy components, and occasional overtime or weekend shifts.
