What are the responsibilities and job description for the Donor Phlebotomy Technician position at Holyoke Medical Center?

Our Blood Donor Center has been part of our community of care for over 40 years. We continue to grow and address the needs of our community through quality and patient-centered care.
Our laboratory team has an exciting opportunity for a Donor Phlebotomist who believes in our Lab's Mission Statement of working collaboratively to ensure quality results for every patient every time. Duties include working in our Blood Bank Donor Center to perform blood donor screening, therapeutic phlebotomy and collection on patients of all ages, reviewing blood donor history, evaluating suitability as a blood donor, and understanding the deferral process.
REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proficiency in the use of computers; two years of phlebotomy experience or completion of phlebotomy training at an approved school. Experience as a donor or therapeutic phlebotomist preferred.
