Mental Health and Wellness Specialist
The Mental Health and Wellness Coordinator will be responsible to support a program-wide culture that promotes mental health and wellness, social and emotional well-being and overall health and safety. Provide leadership and expertise in the areas of mental health, trauma-informed and responsive care, behavioral support, and mental health related community activities and collaborations. Provide the highest level of care and supervision for our clinical team. Responsible for overseeing mental health policies and procedures, grant administration, program budget, consultant contracts and community collaborations, and continuous quality improvement within the mental health program area.
Education and Licensure Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
- License (LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC) required.
Experience Requirements
- Three (3) years of related experience required.
- Two (2) years in a management position with a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience required.
Qualities and Skills
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Sensitivity to and a working knowledge of the needs of low-income, culturally diverse, at-risk families.
- Candidates must possess effective communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a diverse workplace.
- Ability to network and effectively communicate the benefits of a Head Start experience to prospective families, community leaders, and agencies.
- Computer Literacy: Word Processing and Database skills.
- Ability and willingness to work as a team member.
- Ability to maintain and adhere to boundary guidelines.
- Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 119, Section 51A the Mental Health and Wellness Specialist is a mandated reporter and held to the statutory reporting requirements.
Starting Pay: $3,004 bi-weekly ($78,104 annually)
Full-Time: 40 hours per week (exempt position)
Full Year: 52 weeks per year
