Position Overview
The Director is responsible for overseeing daily operations, staff leadership, licensing compliance, program quality, and financial management. This role also builds strong relationships with families, community partners, and local organizations.
You will guide curriculum and classroom quality, coach and support staff, manage enrollment and budgets, lead grant efforts, and help shape the future of childcare in Holyoke.
- Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Flexibility required for events and emergent needs
- Works closely with the Holyoke Community Childcare Board of Directors
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $47,000 – $53,000/year (based on qualifications & experience)
- $200/month healthcare stipend

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support staff through coaching, development, and evaluation
- Ensure compliance with Colorado licensing and quality standards
- Oversee curriculum implementation and classroom environments
- Manage enrollment, budgeting, and operational systems
- Build relationships with families and community partners
- Lead program growth, partnerships, and grant initiatives
- Maintain a positive, high-quality culture for staff and children
Qualifications
Candidates must meet Colorado Department of Early Childhood Director requirements, including:
- Current Colorado Large Center Director Qualifications Letter OR
- Early Childhood Professional Credential Level III (Version 3.0) or higher
Education (one of the following):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in:
- Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child Psychology
- Elementary or Special Education
- Family Studies or Educational Leadership
- OR approved early childhood coursework sequence including:
- Child development, curriculum, guidance, health & safety, and administration
Experience:
- Verified experience working with young children in a licensed setting
- Leadership experience preferred
Ongoing Requirements:
- Maintain director qualifications and continuing education
- Renew Director Qualifications Letter every 5 years
