Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Attendant to join our veterinary clinic and pet care team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to animals, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting the overall well-being of our furry clients. Responsibilities
- Feed, water, and monitor animals' health and behavior throughout the day
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment
- Assist with animal grooming, including bathing, brushing, and trimming as needed
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to prevent injury or stress
- Observe animals for signs of illness or distress and report findings to veterinary staff
- Support pet owners with check-in/check-out procedures and answer basic questions about pet care
- Assist veterinary technicians or veterinarians during examinations or treatments
- Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and treatments
- Provide compassionate pet sitting services when required
- Occasional yard work around the property, examples raking, shoveling, lawn mowing
Qualifications
- Prior experience with dog training, pet grooming, or animal handling is preferred
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and pet care best practices
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to handle animals safely, including heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds when necessary
- Experience in kennel operations or veterinary environments is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
