Job Summary
We seek a dynamic and experienced Director of Early Learning and Afterschool Program to oversee and manage our early childhood education and afterschool programs. The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader with expertise in curriculum development, staff supervision, and program administration. This role requires strong organizational skills, collaboration with educators and families, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for early learning and afterschool programs, ensuring high-quality educational experiences.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula and activities aligned with best practices in early childhood education.
- Hire, train, and supervise teachers and staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
- Foster a collaborative team culture that encourages open communication and professional growth. This will include leading regular team meetings
- Manage program budgets, enrollment, and scheduling to ensure operational efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with all state licensing regulations and accreditation standards.
- Build strong relationships with families and community partners to support student development.
- Meet with parents and teachers to keep parents up-to-date on their child's development and progress, including discussing ways to address any learning or behavioral issue
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children and staff.
Qualifications
- Must meet the Director qualifications of the Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience supervising staff in a certified center early childhood or afterschool program.
- 2 years’ experience working with children and parents, as a teacher in any age group.
- Strong understanding of child development, curriculum design, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with children, staff, and families.
- Proficiency in budgeting, program evaluation, and administrative duties.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be current in the Oregon Central Background Registry
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.76 - $25.00 per hour
