Holy Names Academy is an all-girls Catholic high school founded in 1880 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. The school offers excellent academic, arts, athletic, spiritual, and leadership programs that promote the development of the whole person in an environment of inclusion, collaboration, and community. Holy Names Academy is located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. HNA sports teams practice at various sites around the city.
Holy Names Academy is hiring a part-time Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach. This position, under the direction of the Athletic Director, is responsible for leading and developing the lacrosse program at Holy Names Academy. The spring lacrosse season runs late February – mid-May. Practices are typically held Monday – Friday (3-5pm).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrated knowledge, dedication, experience, and ability to teach lacrosse skills and conditioning programs.
- Supervision and instruction of lacrosse student-athletes during all team activities.
- Effective communication with student-athletes, parents, and school administration.
- Ability to work collaboratively with assistant coaches, athletic trainer, and other HNA staff.
- Represent Holy Names Academy, the athletic department, and the lacrosse program at a variety of on and off-campus marketing and networking events.
- Seeking continuing education opportunities in your sport (clinics, attending college practices, working camps, etc.).
- Maintain compliance with all Holy Names Academy and Washington State Girls Lacrosse Association (WSLA) rules and regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience and expertise in the sport.
- Prior coaching experience at the high school, college, youth, or club level.
- 25 years of age or older.
- Possess a valid Washington State driver's license.
- Available for all practice sessions, workouts, games, and related meetings.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications (or be willing to obtain certification prior to season).
- Must be willing and able to drive a 14-passenger minibus (training provided).
- Successful completion of a criminal background check, fingerprints, and Safe Environment training prior to start of season.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $5,700 – $6,600, paid over the split seasons. Salary is based on skills and experience.
