What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Aide position at Holy Ghost Lutheran School?
We authorize and obligate you:
To assist the teacher in instructing the children faithfully in the Word of God as set down in the canonical books of the Old and the New Testament and is confessed in the symbols of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and recorded in the Book of Concord, particularly Dr. Martin Luther’s Small Catechism;
To assist giving the children a thorough Christian education in the standard school subjects according to a course of study that meets and or exceeds New York standards and is approved by the congregation.
To support the children in Christian living and to maintain Christian discipline in love, employing means in accord with Holy Scripture and within the bounds of reason and justice.
To serve the congregation as an example of Christian conduct, to endeavor earnestly to live in Christian unity with co-workers and members of the congregation, and by the grace of God to do everything within the sphere of a Christian teacher’s calling for the promotion of the school and for the advancement of the kingdom of Christ, both locally and generally.
Employee Service:
At the time of the signing of this contract, it is perceived that the above mentioned employee will be responsible to work as assigned above. The Board of Education reserves the right to change this assignment and schedule based on the needs of Holy Ghost Lutheran School.
Included Duties:
- Spiritual Leadership
- Substitute for - latchkey, aide or as needed
- Ensuring the safety and supervision of children.
- Assisting teachers with instruction in the classroom.
- Maintaining a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore.
- Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
- Attending to the physical needs of the students.
- Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
- Any other duty as assigned by your supervisor.
- Complete hourly time sheets for each pay period.
Pay: $17.25 per hour
