JOB OVERVIEW
Under the general direction of the Director of Little Learners Academy, the Education Coordinator has primary responsibility for providing hands-on support to LLA teaching staff in all 4 PFA classrooms. Co-collaboration in ideas for preparing individualized lessons or assisting with assessments and data. Will act as the in house substitute teacher if a LLA teacher is either sick or on PTO.
JOB OVERVIEW
Under the general direction of the Director of Little Learners Academy, the Early Learning Lead has primary responsibility for providing hands-on support to LLA teaching staff in all 4 PFA classrooms. Co-collaboration in ideas for preparing individualized lessons or assisting with assessments and data. Will act as the in house substitute teacher if a LLA teacher is either sick or on PTO.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Helps with behavior management during lessons, IEP support in process with the lead of the Director.
- Acts as LLA’s in-house substitute teacher in the absence of Lead or Associate Teachers.
- Meet monthly with all Preschool for All (PFA) Teachers and Teacher Assistants to provide individualized coaching, support, and professional development aligned with classroom goals and program standards.
- Create and maintain a flexible schedule for pull-out and pull-in instructional support based on teacher and classroom needs, ensuring targeted assistance for students and balanced staff coverage.
- Conduct Classroom Observations
- Review and provide lesson plan feedback.
- Assists with Kindergarten transition planning/tracking and co-creating and management of PBIS
- Manages DFSS CARES database as instructed by the Director.
- Organizes, facilitates, and conducts meetings or trainings for staff
- Conducts at least one quarterly check-in with enrolled families on Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) as required per DFSS
- Organizes and participates in delegate inter-agency meetings
- Participates in community boards, councils, advisory groups, etc., representing the agency when needed
- Attends state-wide pre-service training; participates in delegate pre-service training and maintains ongoing efforts for professional development
- Maintains organized records of activities related to the enrolled students/PFA & private pay families, including but not limited to, family files
- Submits accurate, prompt reports as requested by Director or grantee staff
- Ensures absolute confidentiality with respect to information records concerning families and children
- Communicate with students about their challenges and come up with ideas about how to overcome them
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed for special events.
- Ability to travel at times for staff development, and meetings.
- Ability to successfully work with culturally diverse staff and clients.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree (Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Family Studies preferred)
- Illinois Gateways ECE Level 2 or higher required or willing to obtain while employed
- Illinois Gateways Director Credential preferred
- Familiarity with the PFA - Early Learning philosophy & scope
- Proficient in MS Suites and Google Suites
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and innovative
- Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
- Friendly and optimistic demeanor
- Team player
- Ability to learn and follow DFSS procedures & systems.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal daily supervision and guidance
- Knowledge of community resources
- Ability to present a positive image of the HFS organization to members of the community
- Ability to pass a health examination and TB test
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Able to work indoors and occasionally outdoors. Role requires sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, seeing, hearing, and the ability to lift a minimum of 10lbs.
