Overview
The transportation Coordinator is responsible for scheduling resident appointments and HCV drivers for weekly and monthly outings. The coordinator also provides transportation for appointments and outings and is responsible for the safe transportation of HCV residents in accordance with the Indiana Department of Transportation regulations and HVC campus policies and procedures. Assists the Life Enrichment department by driving for monthly scheduled resident outings. Required to work with residents with various medical conditions. Responsible for keeping a maintenance log for vehicles and alerting the Life Enrichment Director of problems or routine maintenance needs. Ensure buses are always kept clean.
Duties
- Schedules resident appointments and maintains communication and confirmation of appointments back to residents, and HCV team.
- Facilitates group outings which sometimes include weekends and evenings.
- Creates weekly HCV driver’s schedules and maintains communication and confirmation to team.
- Maintains routine maintenance schedule of vehicles and schedules the required twice annual DOT maintenance appointments.
- Maintains BMV requirements for vehicle license plates/tags annually.
- Facilitates HCV driver inservices such as operation of lift/Wheelchair lockdown, vehicle safety/inspection, etc.
- Assists in orienting/training new HCV drivers on vehicle safety and department and campus protocol.
- Maintains necessary documentation such as fuel receipts, appointments/mileage per vehicle, Driver’ Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR), etc.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 1-year driving/administrative experience
- CDL – passenger B endorsement w/o restrictions
Pay: $21.00 - $24.50 per hour
