POSITION PURPOSE
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Perioperative Lead and Supply Specialistplays a vital leadership role in the perioperative setting. The position combines clinical expertise with administrative and leadership responsibilities to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality care throughout the surgical process. The position will work under the guidelines outlined by the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act, Association of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) standards, Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (NIAHO) standards. MINIMUM MANDATORY qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years direct working experience as a Registered Nurse—Perioperative Lead and Supply Specialist.
Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
Current and valid nursing license in the State of New Mexico or compact state.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills; excellent interpersonal abilities; proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Adherence to Holy Cross Medical Center (HCMC) policies surrounding patient safety, infection control and HIPAA.
Strong oral and written communication skills in dealing with a variety of individuals.
Compassionate, patient-focused and adaptable to the dynamic needs of a rural healthcare setting.
A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Position requires scheduled shifts to cover the surgical schedule. Position requires individuals to assume "on call" duty on a rotating basis. Call required to cover evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
