What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician (Certified) position at Holy Cross Medical Center?
POSITION PURPOSE
The Pharmacy Technician (Certified) position is responsible for supporting pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. This role requires accuracy, efficiency and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment. All patient care activities shall comply with Federal and State regulations, as well as align with National Standards of Care. Responsibilities shall be maintained strictly within the approved scope of practice.
MINIMUM MANDATORY qualifications
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years previous pharmacy experience
Active Pharmacy Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareers Association (NHA)
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
Current and valid pharmacy license in the State of New Mexico within ninety (90) days.
Sterile Compounding Certification USP <797> within six (6) months
Strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication, interpersonal abilities and proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Adherence to Holy Cross Medical Center policies surrounding patient safety, infection control and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Strong oral and written communication skills in dealing with a variety of individuals.
Patient-focused and adaptable to the dynamic needs of a rural healthcare setting. A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
