What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant/LPN position at Holy Cross Medical Center?
POSITION PURPOSE
The Administrative Assistant/LPN position serves as the first encounter for patients, visitors and vendors in the Wound Care Department. The position is supportive of the Wound Care Clinic Staff, scheduling, stocking, managing, billing and serves as the main contact person for clients. The position must be clinically competent and work concurrently in a direct patient care position and as an administrative assistant, support staff capacity.
MINIMUM MANDATORY qualifications
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years working experience as an Administrative Assistant and as either a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-I) or Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (EMT-P) in a healthcare setting.
Education:
High school diploma or High School Equivalency Test (HSE) required.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Advanced knowledge of provider schedule management and utilization.
Superior interpersonal and team building skills.
Knowledge of the mission, organization, programs and requirements of the healthcare delivery system of THS.
Knowledge of front-end revenue cycle process, including patient registration, government and commercial insurance processes.
Knowledge of EHR documentation and workflows.
Knowledge of their specific disciplines and scope of practice in New Mexico.
Strong oral and written communication skills in dealing with a variety of individuals.
Ability and utilization to recognize, anticipate and respond to the needs of customers and patients in a caring, respectful and courteous manner that leads to satisfactory resolution for the customer and patient.
Strong skill set for computers (Microsoft suite of products) and telecommunication devices.
Analytical ability to evaluate complex patient scenarios and critical thinking skills.
A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
