Preschool Head Teacher/Co-Teacher

Holy Cross Christian Nursery School and Childcare is actively seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher/Head Teacher to continue the over 40-year success of this outreach of Holy Cross Lutheran Church to our community. Candidates must be experienced in the field of early childhood development and the management of a classroom. Candidates must also be prepared to work in a shared capacity with another teacher or an assistant in the classroom depending on enrollment at the time of hire. Normal hours of operation are approx. 9AM to 2PM during the school year.

Qualifications

· A bachelor’s degree in early childhood development, or appropriate alternative, as specified in the NJ Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers for a Head Teacher as defined in Section 3A:52-4.6.

· Be available to work during all hours of operation, as designated by the School Calendar.

· Enjoy pre-school children and be able to relate to them

· Be physically able to fulfill the role of teacher

· Have good judgment, take direction well, be reliable, responsible, self-motivated, self-directed, creative, and able to interact positively with the director, staff and students, including the pastor and other church staff.

· Show ability to supervise and teach children using a positive, nurturing and caring attitude

· Show ability to work as a co- teacher and/or supervise and direct an assistant teacher using a positive attitude

· Be willing to increase knowledge in field and fulfill required number of CEUs or workshop hours each year according to state regulations.

· Work in harmony with the entire staff to insure a meaningful program and good relationships among parents, students and teachers.

· Work in partnership with the Director to ensure that all Licensing requirements are adequately met and that the role of Head Teacher is clearly defined.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
