Job Title: Health Records Technician

Position Purpose
- Check-in, assemble and analyze the medical records of discharged patients in an established departmental format; assure completeness and accuracy of contents of the medical record.
- Responsible for ensuring the retrieval of all discharged records and the timely availability of quality scanned documents in the electronic medical record for patient care.
- Retrieval, reconciliation, preparation scanning, quality control checks and validation to ensure that all records scanned in the electronic medical record is of the highest quality possible.
- Reviews, compiles, indexes, and categorizes documents to make sure documents are accurate and route to correct patient in the electronic medical record.
- Conducts 100% quality review of scanned documents and has the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to documents
- Understands that validation and completion of the quality review process ensures integrity and legality of the electronic medical record.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a medical records department or other office environment experience with medical record review processes and the processing of electronic medical records, preferred
- Good organizational and analytical skills
- Must have professional telephone manners and communication skills.
